This course is designed for health professionals who counsel breastfeeding mothers and would like to improve problem-solving skills. The emphasis is in critical thinking and the helping process. It is an intermediate level course and is activity oriented. Course content is reviewed on a regular basis by the authors in accordance with the Standards of Practice set forth by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
DSHS believes that a positive, proactive approach to breastfeeding promotion and support can only be achieved through team effort. Thus, all levels of health-care workers directly affecting breastfeeding women and their infants are encouraged to attend.

* Common Concerns of the Breastfed Infant
* Infants with High Risk Anomalies for Breastfeeding
Registration fee includes conference materials, continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and "Breastfeeding Management for the Clinician: Using the Evidence" by Marsha Walker, RN, IBCLC.
