This annual conference is presented by the Maine State
Breastfeeding Coalition (MSBC). MSBC members include Maine
Lactation Consultant Association (MELCA), WIC, AAP, LLL and
other groups. Please inquire at the educational tables about
joining MELCA and/or a local coalition to help promote, protect
and support breastfeeding families in Maine.

Speakers

Diana West: Diana West is an IBCLC in private practice,
co-author of the 8th edition of "The Womanly Art of
Breastfeeding," "The Breastfeeding Mother's Guide to
Making More Milk," and "Breastfeeding After Breast and
Nipple Procedures." She is also the author of the
"Clinician's Breastfeeding Triage Tool" and "Defining Your
Own Success: Breastfeeding After Breast Reduction
Surgery."

Dale Morrell:

Dale H. Morrell, RRT, MSB is the Director of
Education at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Dale is a
member of the Institutional Ethics Committee. Dale is also
an adjunct faculty member for the CMMC’s College of
Nursing and Health Professions where he teaches an
introductory Ethics course. Dale’s clinical training, as a
respiratory therapist, has stimulated him to learn more
about the difficult decisions that a person has to make in
the healthcare field, both the receivers of care as well as
the providers. Dale has received ethics training from St.
Louis University and many seminars from various
institutions.

Veronica Sweeney RN, IBCLC:
Has been IBCLC for 18
years, working for improved health outcomes through
consulting and as co-Chair of the Maine State
Breastfeeding Coalition. Presently is contributor to the
USBC and Northeast Breastfeeding Committee.

Vendor support of the educational activity does not imply approval
or endorsement of any products by the accrediting organizations.
This conference has not received funding from any manufacturers
of artificial milk for babies, thus supporting the WHO code on
marketing of breastmilk substitutes.
