The Conference is on April 15, 2010, registration is at 8:00 am. Conference starts at 8:30 am and goes to 2:30 pm.
The goal of this one day program is to address important and challenging areas cultural health disparity of breastfeeding practice for all women and their babies at birth. We wish to improve health outcomes by bringing together both the health professionals and the community they serve. Upon completion the experienced professional will be better able to:
• More fully understand the health disparities in our local areas
• Gain a greater understanding of what is needed in these populations at greater risk
• List key ingredients for effective breastfeeding (initiation and duration)
• Understand the importance of proper lactations support in the immediate post partum period
• Identify effective methods of breastfeeding counseling with new mothers
