ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Planning is well underway for our first International Conference for several years. This exciting event will feature a wealth of information for health professionals and breastfeeding counsellors, including:

* Training and development opportunities for health care professionals
* Presentations on the latest research and best practice
* Strategies to reach out to and engage with CALD and indigenous communities, and supporting communities with low breastfeeding rates
* Opportunity to network with people who share your interest in promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding

SOME OF OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Dr Suzanne Colson is a Senior Midwifery Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University UK. She is involved in teaching on the Inter-Professional Learning modules for students in the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences. With over 25 years experience supporting breastfeeding mothers in both acute and community settings, Dr. Suzanne Colson is an honorary member and founding mother/leader of La Leche League France. She has worked as a breastfeeding consultant with Michel Odent at Pithiviers State Hospital (France), and a midwife/baby feeding advisor in North London hospitals. Suzanne's PhD thesis examined the mechanisms of biological nurturing, a newly developed approach to breastfeeding. More information can be found at biologicalnurturing.com

Professor Mary Renfrew is Director of the Mother and Infant Research Unit in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York UK. She is a health researcher with a clinical background in midwifery. Her work has a focus on addressing inequalities in health, and it has informed policy and practice in maternity care and maternal and child nutrition nationally and internationally. Mary is developing new work on a rights-based approach to maternal and child health. Her current interests include infant feeding, care of women in childbirth, inequalities in health, and evidence-based practice and policy.

The ABA is interested in receiving submissions for papers or workshop presentations and the call for abstracts is now open.
